Development and Regeneration

The Developmental Biology Program is one of the original components of the Cardiovascular Research Center. The program provides research and training opportunities in the use of model organism or human genetics to understand the fundamental biological mechanisms and disease pathogenesis. Current areas of focus include the role of electrical and mechanical activity in patterning the cardiovascular system, the genetics of common human cardiovascular diseases and high-throughput in vivo screening in the zebrafish.
