Karishma Rahman

T32 Research Fellow

Karishma is a cardiology fellow at Massachusetts General Hospital with clinical and research interests in vascular inflammation specifically involving the intersections of cardio-oncology and vascular medicine. She completed her MD/PhD training at NYU School of Medicine, where her research focused on macrophage migration and plasticity in atherosclerotic regression, sparking a long-term interest in the immune mechanisms underlying vascular disease. During residency and vascular medicine training at Mount Sinai Hospital, she worked closely with leaders in vascular medicine and developed expertise in both atherosclerotic and non-atherosclerotic vascular disorders. Her postdoctoral research explores how cancer immunotherapies shape vascular disease processes, particularly atherosclerosis, through systems biology strategies and integrative multi-omics frameworks designed to unravel the mechanisms underlying disease pathogenesis.
