Yirong is a Research Fellow in CVRC and Wellman Center for Photomedicine. Working in Dr. Aaron Aguirreās lab, he leverages pioneered cardiac intravital microscopy and optical coherence tomography to study the beating heart at cellular resolution. His research combines advanced optical and ultrasound imaging with photobiomodulation to investigate the cellular mechanics of coronary microvascular dysfunction across ischemic heart disease, cardiac aging, diabetic cardiomyopathy, and HFpEF.
