The Aragam Lab aims to harness human genetic variation for the study of coronary artery disease and related cardiovascular risk factors. Dr. Aragam’s particular interest lies in the clinical translation of human genetic data to improve risk stratification for primary and secondary cardiovascular prevention. He has been involved with basic science investigations in atherosclerosis since his time as an undergraduate at Harvard College. He earned his MD and MS at the University of Michigan where he conducted clinical outcomes research of acute coronary syndrome patients. He continued his research as an internal medicine resident at the University of Pennsylvania where he focused on cardiovascular genetic epidemiology. He started his career at Massachusetts General Hospital as a cardiology fellow.
