Dr. Wasfy is a sports cardiologist and echocardiographer at the Massachusetts General Hospital. Her undergraduate degree is from Harvard College, her medical degree from Harvard Medical School, and her masters in public health from the Harvard School of Public Health. She completed her residency and cardiology fellowships at the Mass General and Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston. She is the team cardiologist for Harvard Athletics and co-medical director for the Boston Athletic Association. Dr. Wasfy is a member of the American College of Cardiology (ACC) Sports and Exercise Cardiology Leadership Council and is vice chair of the ACC Care of Athletic Heart Conference. Dr. Wasfy’s research focus is on optimizing the clinical utilization of cardiac imaging and exercise testing in athlete patients, with an emphasis on sex-based differences. Past and current funding sources include the NIH/NHLBI, ACC, and the National Football League Players’ Association.
